About Kochah

Kochah is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing humanitarian assistance and
education opportunities for deprived children as well as creating an awareness of children
protection and their rights. Kochah’s overall mission is to promote children’s living conditions
regardless of their ethnicity, group, language, religion, or gender. Kochah is registered at the ministry of Finance (MoF) under (10036 dated 15.07.1386 / October 7, 2007) It operates under the law of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and has a presence throughout the world.

It aims at creating awareness of rights and protection of Afghan children. Kochah’s overall mission is to promote opportunities and living conditions of children regardless of their ethnicity, group, language, religion, or gender.

History

KOCHAH is a Non Profit Organization. It is registered on December 7th, 2007 with the Ministry of Economics and operates under the law of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. It was founded by the most celebrated Afghanistan singer & songwriter, human rights activist and UNDP’s Goodwill Ambassador Farhad Darya.

At the initial stage KOCHAH used to conduct a TV show written & directed by Farhad Darya and produced by Darya Production managed by Mr. Haroon Kargha, Darya Management.
All the activities at that stage were financed by Farhad Darya and two Afghan businessmen, Mr. Najib Roshan, the former director of Afghanistan National Radio and Television (RTA) was a close ally and supporter of KOCHAH, who extended technical support to Kochah shows.

The first part of the “KOCHAH” show received wide appreciations and recognition and brought Farhad Darya the Afghanistan Human Rights award. The impact of the TV show generated support at various levels and Kochah was extended co-operation and financial support by some organizations and government institutions such as the Office of the Afghanistan Government, the Ministry of Information and Culture, MoLSA, National Radio and Television and Afghan Business community.

With its increased outreach, KOCHAH is in the process of registration it outside the Afghanistan and will be operating in various parts of the world. It will enable all KOCHAH lovers, child rights activists support KOCHAH initiatives and make financial contribution from across the world.

Kocha Organization is expanding day by day and recently it opened a new office in Hamburg, Germany in December 2008. Nowadays, Kochah Organization has couple of different projects and is prepared to take on new initiatives and extend its support to many more Afghan under-privileged children
